7 Day 6 Night Beijing Shanghai Tour

Day One

Arrive in Beijing in the afternoon. Check into hotel for a rest. Dinner at the most famous Xinjiang Flavor Restaurant with folk performance

Day Two

Our exploration start with Tian An Men Square — the largest city square in the world, bordered by the Great Hall of the People and Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum. Standing north is Forbidden City, the complex of imperial palace and home to the Emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasty for over 500 years. Grand halls and courts gradually give way to more intimate domestic quarters, presenting an insight into the pampered isolation of the emperors. After a well prepared lunch at a Beijing Flavor Restaurant, we will head to Silk Store for shopping, as one of the major Chinese craftsmanship, embroidery products will be the best souvenirs. Enjoy the wonderful Acrobatic Show in the evening. Then we will be devoted to China’s No.1 shopping street – Wang Fu Jing Street for shopping. Peking Duck Dinner at the most famous local restaurant.

Day Three

Today’s highlight is Great Wall of China. First built in the Warring States period (475-221BC) as a series of earthworks erected by individual kingdoms to defend against each other and north invasion, the wall we see now was left from Ming dynasty. On the way to the Great Wall, we will make a visit to Jade Museum where we will learn the ancient art of jade carving skills. Lunch will be served at a Local Restaurant nearby. An outside tour to the prestigious Bird Nest and Water Cube will spark our day – as the stadiums for 2008 Olympic Games, these two creatures won big applaud in and out architectural world. The rest time is for blast shopping – Xiu Shui Market for bargain fun. Dinner at the popular Gansu Flavor Restaurant.

Day Four

The tour of the day is the well-know Summer Palace. Being the largest imperial garden in China, it was first built in the Qing emperor Qianlong’s time in 1751 and was restored in 1886 by Dowager empress Cixi for her own enjoyment. The park became a favorite haunt of Cixi, who even preferred it to the Forbidden City, and named it Yihe Yuan (meaning the garden of health and harmony). After the Fresh Water Pearl Showroom visiting, a well-prepared Mongolia Hot Pot Lunch will be ready for us. And the famous Hong Qiao Market will is our last bazaar in Beijing. Dinner will be at the famous local restaurant.

Day Five

Tianjin is 130 kilometers southeast of Beijing, serving as Beijing’s gateway to the Bohai Sea. People started to settle in Tianjin in the Song Dynasty (960-1279A.D). By the 15th century it had become a garrison town enclosed by walls. After several decades of development, Tianjin is now one of China’s leading manufacturing and commercial centers. Take the Bullet Train to Tianjin with the speed of 300km/hour (It takes about 35 minutes). Then visit to The Eye of Tianjin which is a 120 meters high giant Ferris wheel built above the Yongle Bridge, over the Hai He River in Tianjin. It is claimed to be the only such wheel to have been constructed over a bridge. Visit to the most famous Wu Yi Street by an open carriage. Wu Yi street used to be the foreign concession area with the full of modern history and city a unique flavor. After lunch, visit to the Culture Street, which was constructed in the Ming dynasty. Coach back to Beijing. Dinner at Local Restaurant

Day Six

After breakfast we will visit Pudong New Developed Area, where we will tour the riverside park along the Huangpu River appreciating the highest TV Tower in China as well as the Jinmao Tower, the third tallest building in the world. Visit the Shanghai World Financial Center (100th storey) for a birds-eye-view of Shanghai. Then we will visit to Silk Store for shopping, as one of the major Chinese craftsmanship, embroidery products will be the best souvenirs. After Lunch, shopping at the famous Nanjing Shopping Street and Taobao Shopping Mall.

Day Seven

Check out in the morning. Transfer to Beijing International Airport for the departure flight.
